Bankruptcy Filings in Washington Hit 4-year High
There were 2,664 bankruptcy filings in September. That is about a 33% increase from September 2008. So far this year, over 23,000 people have file bankruptcy in the state of Washington. That is a 50% increase from this point last year. Slow housing markets and high unemployment have helped increase bankruptcy filings. Washington unemployment went up to 9.3%.
