Busy with Bankruptcy
It has been a little while since our last post. We have just been slammed with customers that need bankruptcy auto loans. It’s funny. Last month we were really slow, but this month we don’t have time to sit down. I think last months lack of activity was due to taxes being due. You see, most people that are getting a sizable tax refund tend to file their taxes before the end of February. Most people that are getting nothing back, or have to pay out of pocket tend to wait until the last minute. I have been testing that theory for several years now, and it holds up.
That was a tangent I was not planning on going on. What I wanted to let you know was that bankruptcy filings are up. WAY UP from even a few months ago. I honestly believe that the combination of gas prices going up and home prices going down have a lot to do with it. I know, I know…I am a rocket scientist but seriously, I have never seen such a high concentration of applicants filing for such similar reasons. Sure, medical bills and divorce are always going to be some of the biggest reasons for bankruptcy, but now filing because of deficiency balance (from foreclosure or short sale) and super high credit card balances that were primarily from gas purchases have become fairly common reasons for filing bankruptcy.
If you have filed for bankruptcy, or are thinking of filing, don’t worry. It is not the end of the world. I can tell you from my professional experience, it happens to a lot of really good people. Sometimes there is just no way out. We are some of the best at helping people with bankruptcies buy a car. If you have any questions about how the process works, please give us a call and lets discuss your options.
