I Cannot Afford a Car Payment
I talk to people from time to time that say they cannot afford a car payment. With very few exceptions, those people are usually wrong. A lot of times there are many other expenses that are eliminated when you buy a newer car with low miles on it. 1. Less trips to the mechanic. 2. Less oil changes (most vehicles today are rated for 5,000 miles instead of 3,000 miles). 3. Better gas mileage.
Sometimes, people can even get a better job because their employer knows they have RELIABLE transportation to get to work everyday. A lot of people smoke or drink too much, or maybe that daily trip to Starbucks can be avoided. If you smoke a pack per day, you can pay your car payment by quitting.
A normal car payment is generally between $250-$400 per month.
For $400 per month, we can usually help our clients get into a vehicle that has some manufacturer’s warranty still remaining, an extended warranty (vehicle service contract), or both. If you have ever bought a car on CraigsList.com for $500, or even $2,500, you know that those kinds of vehicles usually have hidden repair bills that start to pop-up right after you buy it.
If you buy a car for $2,000 and immediately have to spend $2000 in the shop on it, what’s the point? You know that $2,000 bill is just the beginning. The funny thing is with $2,000 down, we can almost always help our customers buy a car that has a 24-month, 24,000 mile service contract. You will need to properly prove your income and your residence. Also, you will need to give us eight complete references. However, if you do all that, and you come see us (office in Olympia, WA), we should be able to give you the opportunity to buy a car and start rebuilding your credit.
